Los Angeles (OTS) –

Julien’s Auctions will present ‘Celebrating Bob Dylan: The Aronowitz Archive, T Bone Burnett, & More’ on January 18, 2025 at the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum in Nashville, TN. The event features 60 objects, including 50 from the collection of journalist Al Aronowitz.

Highlights include two pages of three typed drafts of the lyrics to ‘Mr. Tambourine Man’, estimated at $400,000 to $600,000. An early oil painting by Bob Dylan from 1968 is expected to bring between $200,000 and $300,000. Other notable items include a handout from Dylan’s first major performance at New York City’s Town Hall in 1963, old photos, original sketches and much more.

The focus of the auction is a one-of-a-kind Ionic original CD featuring Bob Dylan’s new 2021 studio recording of ‘The Times They Are A-Changin”, produced by Grammy-winning producer T Bone Burnett. This unique piece is estimated at $400,000 to $600,000 and is the second public sale of an original Ionic recording in 2022, following ‘Blowin’ In The Wind’.

Myles Aronowitz, Al Aronowitz’s son, reflects on his father’s legacy: “My father was an incredible connector… He introduced Allen Ginsberg to Bob Dylan, Bob Dylan to the Beatles… The collection represents the instinctive ability “To recognize and connect with my father’s greatness”.

T Bone Burnett comments on the new recording: “Hearing Bob Dylan sing ‘The Times They Are A-Changin” sixty years after he wrote it is a moving experience… this Ionic original is the definitive version of that indelible one Songs”.

A special exhibition featuring highlights from the Al Aronowitz Collection will be on view at the Musicians Hall Of Fame & Museum from December 18, 2024 to January 17, 2025. The auction begins January 18th at 10 a.m. CT at the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum. Items on display include a harmonica signed by Dylan, the original typed lyrics to ‘Mr. Tambourine Man’, a 1968 oil painting, a Fender Telecaster, an embellished Levi’s denim jacket from the 1987 film ‘Hearts of Fire’ and much more.
