Jubilee festival “150 years of Praskac Plantenland”
St. Pölten (ots) –

The Gärtner dynasty Praskac is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. On the occasion of this special anniversary, a festive event with Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner and many customers and guests of honor took place on the occasion of this special anniversary. The anniversary rose “Archduke Franz Ferdinand” was baptized together and the flower sculpture “Prascatz” was unveiled. This approximately eight meter high oversized cat, which was planted with around 12,000 summer flowers, serves the Praskac company as a mascot.

“Since 1875, the Gärtnerei of the PraskaC family has been bringing beautiful flowers as an ambassador of life and the joie de vivre to people. And that is precisely why it is good to get together here today,” said the governor in her speech. “The PraskaC family has always understood how to sow ideas and get success,” said Mikl-Leitner, who also emphasized: “The once small tree school company now convinces with one of the largest and most rich ranges of plant all over Austria. The many ideas of the Praskac family have fallen on fertile soil and have shaped the garden industry in Lower Austria sustainably.” PraskaC is the first tree nursery with AMA seal of approval and for over 20 years important partner of “Nature in the Garden”, she led as an example.

“More and more people are discovering the joy of gardening, be it in their own garden or on the balcony,” said Wolfgang PraskaC. For several years now there has been a strong trend towards fruit and vegetables in Austria, which has expanded the variety of the range of our company, he said.

The tree school operation, which has existed since 1875, is a family business in fifth generation of gardeners. With environmentally friendly production technology, plants for demanding uses under Lower Austrian climate conditions are drawn on around 80 hectares of tree school – this is the passion of the approximately 120 tree school specialists who work in the PraskaC plantland. Austria’s largest flower sculpture, the “Prascatz”, is one of the most photographed flower objects in Austria. The Garden Center from PraskaC in Tulln comprises 15,000 square meters and a garden coffee. Show gardens such as the roof garden, shadow garden, astrogarten and the show garden facility provide inspiration.
