Vienna (OTS) – On Monday, April 8th (7:30 p.m.), the ORF RadioKulturhaus and the Ö1 Jazz editorial team are once again inviting you to a jazz concert in the Great Broadcasting Hall as part of the “5 Million Pesos Special”. You can hear the “Quartett Hals”, “Niklouds 4tet” and “Echoboomer”. Ö1 will broadcast the concert live.
In “5 Million Pesos Special” three contrasting ensembles will once again take the stage, representing the colorful diversity of local jazz. The “Quartett Hals” consists of the four singers Anna Anderluh, Amina Bouroyen, Verena Loipetsberger and Anna László. They call their music “Free-Fall-A-Cappella” and produce harmonically complex vocal music. The program includes unconventionally arranged third-party compositions from jazz, pop and new music as well as our own pieces.
The ensemble “Niklouds 4tet”, founded in the summer of 2022 around saxophonist Nikolaus Holler, is made up of well-known protagonists of the Austrian jazz scene: pianist Simon Raab, bassist Tobias Vedovelli and drummer Matheus Jardim. At the center of the music is Nikolaus Holler’s multi-faceted, expressive, warm alto saxophone voice. “Niklouds 4tet” presents their debut album as part of “5 Million Pesos Special”.
“Echoboomer”, the band around bassist Beate Wiesinger, has released their second studio album “Timeless Warrior” and has thus expanded their style. The septet – consisting of Beate Wiesinger (bass), Astrid Wiesinger (alto saxophone), Alois Eberl (trombone), Florian Sighartner (violin), Clemens Sainitzer (cello), Philipp Jagschitz (keyboards) and Michał Wierzgoń (drums) – presents itself as idiosyncratic hybrid of jazz combo, pop band and chamber music ensemble, often in the same piece. Admission to the concert on Monday, April 8th in the Great Broadcasting Hall is EUR 21; With the ORF RadioKulturhaus card you can purchase a 50% discounted ticket; Ö1 Club members receive a 10% discount.
