Nina Horowitz starts her fifth season with the 28th season of the cult format
Vienna (OTS) – From July 8, 2024, the ORF will be doing the coupling again: with ten new episodes – Mondays at 8:15 p.m. on ORF 2 and from 9:00 a.m. on ORF ON – the popular “love stories and marriage matters” are heading into the next, already 28th season . The cult format, which has been running since 1997, is even celebrating a semi-circular anniversary this year: for ORF documentarian Nina Horowitz, who has been successfully continuing the TV series founded by Elizabeth T. Spira as an interviewer and designer since 2020, this year is already the fifth season as “Procurer of the Nation”.
Horowitz: “Great as a banana split with four (!) scoops of ice cream”
“Unbelieveable how the time goes by. I can’t look that quickly and I’m already celebrating a little anniversary. This is the fifth season of ‘Love Stories’ that I’m doing. And it still feels like the beginning. “It’s as great as a banana split with four (!) scoops of ice cream on a hot summer day,” enthuses ORF filmmaker Nina Horowitz, who has reached an audience of millions with her lovingly designed portraits of people looking for a partner since the beginning.
Nine candidate episodes until September 2nd, season balance at the end of October
This year too, Amor means well for all the lonely hearts who want to find their own personal happiness in love with the help of the show. A total of 55 singles from all over Austria will have the chance. Nina Horowitz presents the candidates in nine episodes up to and including September 2nd. The tenth edition at the end of October traditionally takes stock and shows how the applicants fared in their search. Who has received the most letters, who still needs to be patient, who has already had a spark and who has actually already found true love?

Season opener with singles from Vienna, Burgenland, Upper Austria and Styria
At the start of the 28th season on Monday, July 8th, Nina Horowitz portrays six new singles on their search for their very own happiness in life. The three women and three men are at home in Vienna, Burgenland, Upper Austria and Styria.
Karl, 68-year-old retired civil servant from Vienna, wants to find new love after 13 years of being single. The passionate hunter’s heart has to share this with the dog Adelheid, whom the native Styrian even carries to the high seat. Would he carry his new lover in his hands or even over the doorstep?
Cecilia, a 61-year-old retired qualified nurse who has an open heart for life’s adventures, also comes from Vienna. The world traveler sometimes dreams of “Rolling Stone” Mick Jagger, but her ideas of a new man at her side should not remain just dreams. In any case, she is ready for a time together full of “satisfaction”.
Benji, 34, a nurse from southern Burgenland, sometimes feels very lonely and wants nothing more than a loving partner. He also has very precise plans for the future: a family and a home together full of love. “I dream of a wife and children, that brings life into the place,” he reveals.
Gerda, 79, a retired office clerk from Upper Austria, has had very difficult times in her life in which her former husband did not treat her the way she deserved. But now she is looking forward to a new phase of life full of joy and togetherness. “I want to have a partner who has time for me and values me,” she says unequivocally.
Joachim, 62 years old, a retired boiler keeper from Upper Austria, is looking for his second half. The Carinthian native wants a “completely natural woman” who will go hiking with him and share his passion for good conversations, but also much more. Joachim would even give his new flame some of his beloved Carinthian Kasnudeln.
Brigitte, a 57-year-old retired seamstress, comes from Styria and melts to the emotional hits of Roy Black. The new man in her life should have time for her because her ex worked too much for her liking and she was often alone. The single lady knows full well that a golden cage doesn’t make you happy.
