IT-KV: Negotiations postponed again | ÖGB Austrian Trade Union Confederation, January 25, 2024

Still no offer for an appropriate actual increase, further round of negotiations on February 2nd Still no offer for an appropriate actual increase, further round of negotiations on February 2nd

Vienna (OTS) The 7th round of negotiations for the 90,000 employees in the IT industry also took place on January 25th. No result found. Although there was movement from both sides, there is still no offer from employers for an appropriate increase in the actual salary amount.

Simply increasing minimum salaries in line with inflation will not be enough. The GPA negotiating team clearly rejected the employers’ proposal to temporarily only increase the minimum salaries, but not to increase the actual salaries. “The vast majority of employees are waiting for their actual salaries to be increased. A collective agreement is a complete package. Employers’ suggestions regarding a two-year closing of the actual increase remained vague. Despite a certain level of skepticism, we will discuss this internally with the works council,” said the negotiator of the GPA union, Sandra Steiner. Works meetings that will initiate further union action are being prepared.

The KV negotiations will continue on February 2nd.
