She defends herself by hurling good texts to the bad world.
In other words, as she announced in the foreword to her first book that has just been published, she decided “a few years ago to write down the things that” move “to me instead of eating eating or distributing tongue kisses without being asked.”

At first she reported, modest as she is apparently, only on the Internet with isolated articles, preferably on the social media platform Facebook, where she addressed various grievances. For example, the problem that gender justice fails to do, where it would sometimes be the most urgent, namely in the area of personal hygiene: One day Spilker found that the internet made her, the woman, “without asking buying proposals for tight, decreasing intimate ointments”, while in the case of men, such product recommendations did not appear. Of course, this makes you think and entails various questions: »Is there a similar type of products actually for men? For example, I could introduce myself to a tight penis gel for the Lord from 40. Also think of the withered nude mull in the boxer shorts. Desticular. Is that already? Name proposal: ›Velvet balls‹. Adstringing lotions for the bubbled foreskin? Could that be a future beauty topic? “
Today, Spilkers with a Hamburg local color are strange everyday stories and their other verbal interventions, which range from friendly ideology criticism to non-conformer beauty and fashion advice, no longer only to be found on the Internet. It is now also active for various newspapers and magazines, for example for “taz” and “music express”. Your range of topics is not exactly tight and ranges from subtle criticism of patriarchy to questions of aesthetics and style to TV series reviews and product information from the field of pop music.
In addition, she takes it with everyone, but also really everyone who in her opinion talks nonsense “(Danielle de Picciotto). If she doesn’t make herself the object of her ridicule – which is often enough. From the results of her self -experiments on the question of what effects uninvested night celebrations have from a certain age, Spilker makes no secret: »You don’t want to see the massive swelling that recently flooded my face. Your literary role models are partly to be guessed at. At least I imagine to be able to guess one or the other. This is how you believe to recognize the sophisticated as well as coquettes of chatton Max Goldts or the dry comedy of satirists Fanny Müller and Ella Carina Werner. Or the fine and relentless self-irony, which is known from the autobiographical glosses of the American author and film director Nora Ephron (“Never lies the neck”). But that is not a bad thing at all. On the contrary: very few dominate journalistic-literary techniques such as irony and satirical, with which Spilker works. You are happy for every author who has a knack for sublime punch lines and detail in the language.
And as already indicated: Rebecca Spilker is very familiar with a lot. For example, she makes constructive suggestions to optimize the female anatomy: »The structure made of glandular tissue and fat hang on the front. That does something with one. If you hung on the back, like a backpack, you would have more freedom of movement at the front. ”Or she explains that steadfast rest is the basic requirement if, as a German train customer, you want to remain at mind:» We are cool and wordlessly sitting not to receive any information. But she also does not save private things: “I had already carried the dark secret of my cheese addiction to me for too long.” In the near future, a novel is said to appear, but all information about it is currently still kept secret.
