The sustainable and climate-neutral orientation of our energy system is one of the most important political tasks for the new federal government. The gas industry is working intensively to make the energy system sustainable and to advance the energy transition. This requires a clear commitment to gas as an energy source and to investments in Austria’s gas infrastructure.
As part of the press conference, the Austrian Association for the Gas and Water Industry (ÖVGW) will present its proposed solutions and measures for a safe, affordable and climate-friendly energy supply.
The focus is on
· the use of biomethane, hydrogen and synthesis gas
· a secure legal framework for the conversion of the gas infrastructure towards new gases
· Sector coupling through smart interaction between electricity and gas
