There are currently isolated disruptions due to IT disruptions – police and emergency numbers are not affected
Vienna (OTS) – Interior Minister Gerhard Karner convened the coordination committee on July 19, 2024 under the leadership of the Deputy Director General for Public Security, Michael Takacs, to ensure a uniform level of knowledge between all affected stakeholders. In Austria there are currently no nationwide outages, but rather selective outages such as at Vienna Airport or in individual hospitals. The police and emergency numbers are not affected.
The solution developed by the company “CrowdStrike” seems to be working for those affected. The authorities are constantly monitoring the situation and are in constant communication with other ministries, critical infrastructures and partner services.
