Vienna (OTS) – Nagarro and Google Cloud present the three winners of the Innovation Challenge 2024. ÖBB Operative Services GmbH, Österreichische Post AG and Dectris AG received this year’s Innovation Award as part of the “Nagarro Summer Vibes”. Together with experts, they will digitize their promising projectsideas bring it to the next round of implementation.
The first place goes to the ÖBB Operative Services GmbH. With the project idea “Real-time situation report for the targeted deployment of security employees” A system is to be developed that efficiently supports the deployment of security forces at train stations. By analyzing travel behavior and customer volume, security officers can be deployed where they are needed. By winning the proof of concept worth 50,000 euros, ÖBB is one step closer to increasing the safety of travelers while saving resources.
Second place goes to Austrian Post AG. Die “Post Knowledge Base” With the help of AI, acts as an “all-knowing colleague” for the customer advisors. Jörg Weis, CTO at Austrian Post, is convinced that answering inquiries using AI assistance can significantly increase customer satisfaction: “The implementation enables significantly faster and more comprehensive processing in the branches and significantly reduces waiting times, especially for complex inquiries,” says Jörg Weis.
As the third winning project Dectris AG with “Automated AI based prediction of protein structures” convince. Max Burian, Cloud Solutions Product Lead at Dectris explains: “Even though AlphaFold, a generative AI framework, is freely available, its use is reserved for users with the appropriate technical expertise and the necessary hardware. By providing protein prediction services, we enable employees in science and researchers have easy access to this revolutionary framework, allowing them to quickly achieve even more accurate insightful results.”
Gladly used the opportunity for testing
After the success of the first three years, the organizers are planning to continue the Innovation Challenge in 2025. “We have also seen many exciting submissions in the third year. Large and small companies from a wide range of industries are happy to take advantage of this opportunity to test their creative innovation ideas with international expertise,” sums up Paul Haberfellner, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Nagarro in Austria.
Mario Berger, Country Manager von Google Cloud, is a valuable partner as an international hyperscaler: “What impressed us most this year was the central role that AI has already played in innovation ideas. Our aim is to continue to build solutions together with Nagarro in the future that will continue to keep our customers competitive. “
