Vienna (OTS) – After the EU election is before the National Council election. The issue of migration will also play a central role here. SPÖ club chairman Philip Kucher and ÖVP Interior Minister Gerhard Karner now want to deport violent criminals from Afghanistan and Syria. The FPÖ is calling for asylum applications to be suspended and wants pushbacks at the borders. Family reunification is being massively slowed down, 1,000 cases are being re-examined. The economy, on the other hand, is desperately looking for skilled workers. But how do we bring these people into the country? What measures ensure that others also have quicker access to the labor market and become self-sufficient? What can politics actually control and implement, where is it powerless?
