Vienna (OTS) – The industrial association’s demand for a discussion about a 41-hour week is heating up people’s minds. In contrast, the SPÖ and the trade unions are demanding much shorter working hours. One thing is certain: there are too few skilled workers in Austria and too few people work full-time. 32 hours or 41? What are the pros and cons? What about the work-life balance of the younger generation? Is prosperity in danger, as the industry fears, or do we need shorter working hours in order to retire healthier? And will the technical revolution – keyword artificial intelligence – make this question obsolete anyway?
