Important step after a long delay

A solution around the Stein-Mautern Danube bridge is of crucial importance for the people of the region.

State parliament member Josef Edlinger emphasizes: “The people in the region depend on a quick and sustainable solution to the situation. Not only commuters, but also tourism and the economy depend on the Danube Bridge. It’s good that things are finally moving and there is certainty for the population. The replacement crossing will be ready for use from 2027.”

State parliament member and VPNÖ transport spokesman Florian Krumböck is relieved that the matter is now moving faster: “We need a quick solution for the local population. The replacement crossing will provide significant relief for the region and is a light at the end of the tunnel for the entire Wachau. It is important that a plan has now been presented after much back and forth.”
