IGGÖ commemorates the victim at the mourning event in Villach and invites you to prayer for peace on Friday

On Friday, February 21, 2025, a prayer of peace will be held in the Bosniac Cultural Center Villach, a mosque of the Islamic Faith Community in Austria (IGGÖ), in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack. On this occasion, IGGÖ President ümit Vural will be present together with high-ranking officials: inside the IGGÖ. The prayer should set a sign of peace, social cohesion and the clear rejection of violence.

The event is characterized by unity, respect and dialogue. Esad Memić, Head and Imam of the Mosque, Chairman of the Schurarat of the IGGÖ and specialist inspector for Islamic religious education emphasizes: “We pray for the victims of violence and terror and work tirelessly for a respectful, peaceful coexistence. Our new mosque in Villach is a symbol of dialogue and the peaceful coexistence of all people in our city. ”

All interested parties are cordially invited to take part in the event and to stand up for a peaceful society together.

As part of the Friday prayer, places to the victims of the terrorist attack and their bereaved are also spoken in all mosques of the IGGÖ across Austria. These prayers should donate comfort and express the solidarity of the Muslim community with all those affected.

As early as Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Esad Memić and representatives: Inside the Islamic religious community of Carinthia will take part in the official mourning event in Villach to underline the solidarity and compassion of the Muslim community.
