House on the Turkish hill modernized – further care places for Vienna

As part of a summer festival with the residents and relatives, the two -year modernization work was celebrated in the house on the Türkenschanze. The conversion of the house supports the quality of the life of older Viennese and at the same time to counter the increasing need for care in Vienna with further capacities.

Care with future

“With the house on the Turkish ski jump, the houses take another step towards the future of care in Vienna,” says Peter Hacker, City Councilor for Social Affairs, Health and Sport and President of the Houses. “The creation of additional care places and modern infrastructures is a central measure to meet the growing need. In this way, we can continue to offer the Viennese high -quality care and support that enable a self -determined life.”

In the course of the work, two new care stations were created that provide modern, small -scale residential units and can be used flexible as required. In addition to the existing station, a total of 92 nursing places will be available in the house on the Turkish hill. The expansion is part of the 2030+ housing strategy, which was developed in cooperation with the Social Affairs Vienna (FSW) and the City of Vienna. A total of around 450 additional care places in the houses are to be built to live in the houses by 2030. “Together with 170 partner organizations, we create social security for around 145,000 Viennese and provide support that you need. We are pleased that our long -standing partner organization, the houses to life, takes another step to secure quality care in Vienna and thus improve the quality of life of the older and oldest in Wiener: on the inside in a tried and tested manner”emphasizes FSW managing director Anita Bauer.

Focus on individual care and support

Particular attention was paid to a homely atmosphere, short distances and modern equipment. “The new stations enable even more individual care and support,” emphasizes Simon Bluma, deputy managing director of the houses. “Small, manageable units promote social closeness and create a familiar environment – this has a positive effect on the well -being and the cognitive skills of our residents.”

Modern work environment

The quality of stay for residents and employees was also increased by measures against summer overheating. “With the modernization, we create a modern working environment that makes the everyday life of our employees significantly easier and more efficient,” adds Bluma. “Bright, functional rooms, optimized route and new break areas increase well -being in everyday work and contribute to a long -term employee tie.”

Solemn opening with residents

The construction work took place during the ongoing company and were carefully followed by the residents. In her opening speech, Jasmin Tomassi, director of the house on the Turkschanze, thanked the guests present and emphasized: “It is nice to see how much has arisen here in a short time. The house on the Turkschanze is ready for the future – with more space, more comfort and more quality of life for our residents.”
