It is our duty to remember this tragedy and work for a world without nuclear weapons.” ****
“Precisely because agreements on cooperation between states are constantly being canceled today and peace and security cannot be taken for granted: we need international cooperation and we must strengthen existing disarmament agreements and initiate new ones,” demands Bayr. “Unfortunately, the dangers are very real. Due to the threat of nuclear weapons and global warming, the doomsday clock is at 90 seconds to twelve. We must act decisively to avert these dangers. The international community must act as one against nuclear armament and fight for a world free of nuclear weapons,” said Bayr with conviction.
“Hiroshima Day reminds us that we must never forget the horrors of war and nuclear destruction. We have a responsibility to the citizens, the children and the elderly, in our communities, to ensure a peaceful and safe future,” explains Bayr. (End) ah/up
