Vienna (OTS) – “Interior Minister Gerhard Karner and Digitization State Secretary Florian Tursky are setting the next milestone in digitization with the introduction of the digital registration certificate and are once again making Austria a pioneer in the European Union in this area,” confirmed ÖVP digitization spokeswoman Eva-Maria Himmelbauer today, Thursday Implementation of the digital registration certificate. You can use this to log in to the “Digital Office” app and start the activation process in the “eIDs” app. You can then use this to download the “digital registration certificate” onto your smartphone and show it in the “eID” app as a QR code – initially only during a traffic check. The plan for the future is to include all ID cards on the platform – from student ID cards to e-cards. “The goal is to make Austria’s administration more innovative, more service-oriented and closer to the citizens,” says Himmelbauer, who concludes by emphasizing: “As a people’s party, we want to make administration as simple, quick and safe as possible for the citizens.
