Hergovich: The Labor Foundation is coming!
St. Pölten (OTS) –

“The introduction of a work foundation for the employees in Lower Austria affected by the insolvency of the Kika/Leiner furniture chain is an important step. At the initiative and pressure of the SPÖ Lower Austria, the black-blue state government is now finally showing a willingness to act. Today I would therefore like to thank everyone who made this measure possible, from the works councils, to the union, the AMS, the state parliament and the responsible state councilor Rosenkranz,” says control state councilor Sven Hergovich, satisfied with the developments: “We Social Democrats have Together with the union, we have repeatedly advocated for a labor foundation in recent weeks and pointed out the urgency. The fact that the black-blue coalition is waking up and taking action shortly before Christmas is a good sign for the families affected.”

Hergovich emphasizes the central role of the Public Employment Service (AMS) in the implementation of the measures: “It is pleasing that the AMS Lower Austria now has the basis with the Labor Foundation to provide targeted support. It will be crucial that the foundation does not just exist on paper, but that sufficient funds are actually made available to train and place those affected.”

For the SPÖ Lower Austria one thing is clear: sustainable solutions are needed. “We will look closely at how the work foundation is implemented and whether those affected actually get the help they need,” sums up Hergovich.
