“Anyone who tries to find the public service in the government program of the new federal government and think that this important professional group, like in the past, would have had a prominent place in the title of one of the new ministries, is huge,” said NABG today. Werner Herbert, Federal Chairman of the Action Group of Independent and Freedom (Auf) and Freedom Area for the Public Service, at the National Council meeting. It was only in the explanations of this law that the public service has been assigned to the State Secretariat in the Federal Chancellery and has thus been clearly degraded politically as well as organizational. Herbert: “A worthy and appreciative handling of this important professional group looks different.”
With its around 370,000 employees at federal, state and municipal level, the public service does an important and necessary service in the general public at the federal, state and community level. “Regardless of whether as an executive officer, employee, in the healthcare service, in the school and kindergarten area or in the administration, these employees are in action every day for the benefit of the population and ensure a functioning course of state institutions with competence and commitment,” emphasized the FPÖ deputy.
“This obviously displayed disregard for this new federal government for our public staff is neither understandable nor do the colleagues deserve to be treated in such a disguise and disrespectful manner by the new federal government,” concluded Werner Herbert.
