Just in time at 12:30 p.m. MESZ, the Spectrum rocket from Isar Aerospace from Andøya Spaceport in Norway-a bold attempt to be seen as a great success despite an early end and which marks a milestone for European space travel.
As the first privately developed orbital rocket in Europe, this start underlines the determination, technology, defense and resilience of the continent in space. Peak Technology, partner of Isar Aerospace since 2018, provided over 30 helium tanks for the first and second stage to support the rocket printing system. The leitmotif remains via Aspera ad astra – through hardship to the stars.
The cooperation between Peak Technology and Isar Aerospace, which has existed for seven years, is evident in this ambitious project. Although the flight broke off shortly after successfully lifting, it provided valuable data for further development. Peak’s helium tanks, essential for the fuel coverage, stood for Austrian precision and reliability. “This attempt was a brave step – for Isar Aerospace and for Europe. Every flight brings us closer to success. Never give up!” Says Dieter Grebner, CEO Peak Technology.
The Spectrum start shows Europe’s determination to secure technological independence. At a time when satellites for communication, climate research, defense and resilience are decisive, this test remains a success and will. “We are proud to be part of this historical moment with our components that promote Europe’s space for space,” adds Dieter Grebner. The knowledge gathered forms the basis for upcoming missions.
Peak Technology and Isar Aerospace continue their partnership to consolidate Europe’s role in space – with innovative strength and steadfast commitment.
