Heinrich Kulka (1900-1971)-Loos student and successor

Vienna (OTS) –

Heinrich (Jindřich) Kulka, born in Litovel (German: Littau, today’s Czech Republic), began studying architecture at the Technical University in Vienna. At the same time, he attended Adolf Loos’s private construction school and was already significantly involved in almost all designs from 1927/28 as his partner. The upcoming exhibition is devoted to the independent work of Heinrich Kulkas before his emigration. In addition to some Viennese work from the time before 1938 (first emigration according to Hradec Králové / Königgrätz), the focus is on his buildings realized in Bohemia, which are entirely committed to the idea of the space plan. Kulka was able to realize these projects in his original homeland before his final emigration to New Zealand in 1940.
