Vienna (OTS) – As of January 1, 2024, HDI LEBEN will no longer have referral regulations for all newly taken out occupational disability insurance (BU). In doing so, the company consolidates its position as an industry pioneer and outstanding provider of income protection solutions.
As of January 1, 2024, HDI Lebensversicherung AG will be the first insurer in Austria to completely waive referrals for BU protection EGO Top. Michael Miskarik, branch manager of HDI LEBEN in Austria, sees several advantages in the new regulation: “By completely dispensing with referrals in the initial and follow-up examinations, we are achieving a new level of quality in occupational disability protection. First of all, this makes performance testing much easier. As long as there is at least 50 percent occupational disability for the last occupation, a BU pension is paid – regardless of whether another occupation was taken up. This eliminates stressful questions for those affected such as ‘Do I have to take a different job?’, ‘Will my BU pension be canceled or reduced if I work in a different job?’. This provides valuable security in this difficult situation.

At the same time, HDI LEBEN is taking a further step towards transparency and simplicity. Michael Miskarik highlights another positive aspect: “Although we are improving our terms and conditions in important ways through the new regulations, premiums and health issues remain unaffected.

HDI LEBEN was the first to stop the specific referral in the initial inspection – and now also the first in the follow-up inspection.
