Halloween and All Saints Day | OTS.at

On October 31st, Protestant Christians remember Reformation Day as a reminder that Martin Luther published his 95 theses on reform in 1517. At the same time, Halloween is celebrated, which only developed into a party event with monster costumes, brain jelly and cemetery romance after Irish immigrants brought the custom to the USA in the 19th century. November 1st, All Saints Day, is considered a high Catholic feast day. A large part of the population uses the holiday to visit the cemetery. On this day, the Catholic Church traditionally blesses the graves.
