GW St. Pölten: Family Minister visits family-friendly company

Vienna (OTS) –

GW St. Pölten Integrative Betriebse GmbH has been a certified family-friendly company since 2018 and a member of the “Companies for Families” network – with over 900 partners. In the industrial sector, GW St. Pölten offers products and services from contract manufacturing to component or system delivery (metal machining and processing, electrical assembly and control cabinet construction, signage, printing, advertising technology, textile work, GW Services). Around 560 employees with and without disabilities – around 75% people with disabilities – work at three locations in commercial, technical and administrative fields.

The employees of GW St. Pölten receive the best possible support through a family-friendly personnel policy. Measures such as paternity leave, home office, nursing leave and individual working time models promote the compatibility of family and work and at the same time increase the attractiveness as an employer for talented specialists. “As Family Minister, it is close to my heart to further promote the compatibility of family and work and to create more awareness of family-friendly measures. Because it is clear to us: Austria should become the most family-friendly country in the world. And the fact that we are at the forefront here is also shown by a study by the EU Commission, which confirms that we are in first place in Europe when it comes to family benefits. I am particularly pleased that many companies uphold the importance of the family, because we also need companies to make their contribution to this.”emphasized the Family Minister during her visit.

“The issue of balancing work and family/private life is a central part of our actions. We were very pleased to have an exchange with Federal Minister Raab, where she was able to see for herself the wide range of family-friendly support measures offered by GW St. Pölten. Our employees value the good working conditions and the compatibility of work and family/private life, which is also confirmed in the results of the employee survey,” reports Mr. Michael Wölfl, CFO of GW St. Pölten.

The aim, according to the family ministries, is to “To further increase awareness of the importance of family-friendliness in companies.”

The state quality mark for family-friendly commitment

A total of over 750 companies, universities and health facilities have already completed the berufundfamilie, hochschuleundfamilie and berufundfamilie certifications for health and care facilities. As a result, over 590,000 employees already benefit from a family-friendly workplace. In addition, more than 240,000 students study at universities and colleges with family-friendly offerings. The certifications are precisely defined processes in which existing offers for better compatibility are evaluated and new needs-oriented measures are developed with the active participation of employees.
