In the heart of Wulkaprodersdorf near Eisenstadt, the non-profit BWS Group is building 30 barrier-free two to four-room apartments, a Raiffeisen bank and a small health center with several doctors’ practices and a pharmacy. In the middle of the town center of the 2,000-inhabitant community, this innovative construction project is intended to create added value for all age groups.
The “Wulkaprodersdorf Mittendrin” project is a showcase project in terms of making the town center more attractive in the long term and is characterized by its ecologically sustainable wooden construction. Photovoltaic systems on the roofs provide green electricity. Heating, hot water preparation and cooling in summer are done via air heat pumps.
As one of the largest non-profit housing associations in Austria, the BWS Group is expanding its commitment to living and working in Burgenland with this project, where it already manages 284 apartments.
The groundbreaking ceremony is now taking place for the first construction phase, in which the health center is to be built in addition to the Raiffeisenbank. Construction of the apartments is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025. Completion of the entire project is scheduled for 2026.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on October 8th, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in Wulkaprodersdorf, Obere Hauptstraße 38-40 (guests arrive at 2:30 p.m.).
