Groundbreaking ceremony for subsidized rental apartments in the Pradl district

Innsbruck (OTS) The BWS Group, as one of the largest non-profit housing associations in Austria, designs affordable housing for all population groups in the Pradl district of Innsbruck. “Even in times of high construction costs, we build and thereby create living spaces for the people of Innsbruck and jobs in the construction industry,” says BWS board member Dr. Mathias Moser.

The existing residential area will be redesigned and densified. In the “Future Living” project, 158 new, subsidized rental apartments are being built. The housing association plans to complete components 1 and 2 at the end of 2025. Construction for component 3 is scheduled to begin at the beginning of 2026. Two other existing properties are being renovated.

In addition to affordable apartments, the project in the Knollerstrasse/Hörmannstrasse/Hunoldstrasse area will also house assisted living, business premises and an ASBÖ base. Two to four-room apartments with 34 to 110 square meters will be created in the three components. Ing. Hans Bodner BaugesmbH acts as general contractor.

The ARCHITEKTURB(R)AUEREI office won the two-stage architectural competition with their concept. Urban planning, architectural and functional aspects in their planning were decisive. The economic and ecological orientation as well as social sustainability were also crucial for the award.

All apartments are equipped with a loggia, balcony or terrace. Green facades, PV systems on the roofs and bicycle parking spaces are intended to ensure green living quality at the highest level coupled with the city’s good infrastructure.
