Greens Upper Austria congratulate Georg Willi & the Greens Innsbruck on first place and confident entry into the BGM runoff election. The FPÖ was clearly put in its place.
Linz (OTS) – The Innsbruck local council elections have been won and are a complete success for the Greens.
“The voters gave climate protection a strong voice and clearly voted the Greens into first place in the Tyrolean state capital,” says the Green state spokesman LR Stefan Kaineder happily and congratulates Georg Willi on his confident entry into the runoff election for the mayor’s office. This result impressively shows the strong green work of recent years in a very difficult environment. The election campaign was characterized by personal attacks by the FPÖ against Georg Willi and a blockade policy by the town hall opposition. “Today’s result shows that the people in Innsbruck reject this bad style and that the Greens, as a constructive party for the future, are in a position to clearly put the FPÖ in its place.” emphasizes Kaineder and is very confident about the future: “Now is the time “It’s up to Innsbruck to give Georg Willi a clear mandate for progress, climate protection and social cohesion in the runoff election in two weeks.”
