Shaping the future with a focus on our natural and cultural landscape, climate, energy, nature agency and sustainable organizational development: From October 2025, a 3-year bachelor’s degree will start at the University of Agriculture and Environmental Education in Vienna for everyone who wants to actively participate in the design of sustainable and future-oriented society. With an interdisciplinary approach, “Green Transformation” combines environmental education, advice and sustainable development in order to address current and future challenges.
“Our natural and cultural landscape is a valuable asset that we have to actively preserve- for the next generations, for the life and business location of Austria and for our security of supply. The study” Green Transformation “provides the actors of the future, emphasizes Environment Minister Norbert Tettschnig. For the minister, “education is the key to a successful future. With studying at the university for agricultural and environmental education, we offer young people a future-oriented and practical training as well as the best job opportunities in the regions, also apart from the metropolitan areas.”
The course focuses on the areas of climate and energy, nature mediation as well as the accompaniment of people and organizations in sustainable processes. Students acquire well -founded knowledge of the relationships between climate change, renewable energies and sustainability. At the same time, they learn to convey environmental and natural topics understandable and inspiring in schools, advice and adult education.
Double training as an educator and educator for scientific subjects in vocational schools and at the same time as a consultant and the consultant is unique in Austria. In addition to specialist knowledge, competencies in advice, moderation and project management are taught in order to promote sustainable changes in various social contexts. With this studies, graduates can become active as a competent environmental consultant and teach as educators and thus support sustainable development at local, regional and global level.
“Green Transformation” is characterized by a practical orientation in which theory and application are closely interlinked. Students have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in real projects, workshops and internships. “With this studies, we would like to train a new generation of environmental and sustainability actors who are promoting the transformation towards sustainable society with specialist knowledge and pedagogical competence,” explains Rector Dr. Thomas Haase.
