Graz/Klagenfurt (OTS) – The banking group of Grazer Wechselseiten Versicherung (GRAWE Bankengruppe), which, in addition to Bank Burgenland as the leading institution, includes the private bank Schelhammer Capital with the strong brands “DADAT Bank” and “die plattform” as well as the investment company Security KAG as affiliated institutions, has made a significant takeover . Today, Bank Burgenland concluded an agreement with Anadi Bank (AB) to take over the branch business and a selected loan portfolio in Carinthia. The transaction includes
- all AB branches in Carinthia (10 locations) with the customer business managed there and all AB employees employed there
- a selected portfolio of SME and real estate financingwhich is primarily based in Carinthia, as well as the specialized AB team based in Klagenfurt, which has so far managed these financings.
„We are pleased to be able to continue to offer Anadi Bank’s customers high-quality local support in the future. We believe in the branch business and the experienced, well-trained employees with roots in the region. With this transaction, the GRAWE banking group is expanding its market area in branch and corporate customer business to Carinthia and is setting a strong example in the retail segment throughout Austria“
says Christian Jauk, CEO of the GRAWE banking group.
The transaction involves around 42,000 customers with a current business volume of around €1.7 billion. The aim is to spin off a partial operation from AB into Bank Burgenland, which will almost double its number of customers in the retail segment with this transaction. Around 70 AB employees will move to the GRAWE banking group. The transaction is expected to close in September 2024 once agreed conditions have been met, including the approval of the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA).
„GRAWE has its origins in customer business with strong relationships, and this is also one of the great strengths of the GRAWE banking group. We believe that a reliable local contact will continue to have an important place in banking in the future. The trusting relationship between customers and consultants is of inestimably high value“
says Christian Jauk.
After the closing, the market area of the GRAWE banking group in the retail segment extends across the “southern axis” of Carinthia-Styria-Burgenland as well as Vienna with a total of around 91,000 customers in 23 branches, which are mainly located in state and district capitals.
„We want to continue the success story that began with the acquisition of Bank Burgenland by GRAWE in 2006. With a solid business policy that always focuses on the trusting relationship between customers and advisors, Bank Burgenland has developed steadily in recent years and is now one of the leading state banks in Austria. We as the GRAWE banking group would now like to continue this path in Carinthia“
summarizes Christian Jauk.
