The joy is great: the 48s became for their “Orange Week 2024” at the Green Marketing Award 2025 with gold in the “Be different!” excellent. The ceremony took place on June 5, 2025 in the Ballonhalle Vienna – with over 70 nominated projects, a large audience and an atmospheric gala, moderated by Gabi Hiller and Philipp Hansa (Ö3).
The Green Marketing Award honors innovative marketing activities that achieve positive effects on the environment, society and sustainable corporate management. The “Orange Week” was able to convince the Austrian population as part of a representative market research survey as well as the specialist jury, chaired by WU professor Dieter Scharitzer.
“2025 in Vienna is the year circular economy and this price for the 48s is therefore a very special honor,” emphasizes Climate City Councilor Jürgen Czernohorszky. “With projects such as the Orange Week, the 48s contribute to Vienna to the city without waste!”
Sustainable communication
The Orange Week, which took place in the 48-seater in November 2024, was a sustainable alternative to Black Friday. She set a sign of avoidance of waste, reuse and recycling. The action week has shown how effective sustainable communication and lived consciousness formation in urban areas can be. Because the 48s not only campaign for sustainability, but also consistently pursue the legally anchored mandate to inform the Viennese population about the circular economy and waste avoidance as part of public relations and marketing.
“The profit of the Green Marketing Awards is a confirmation and an incentive to continue to find innovative communication channels in order to make positive changes in our city,” emphasizes 48 boss Josef Thon. “We are already looking forward to the Orange Week 2025!”
