Search for the most spectacular football goal in Vorarlberg by voting on vorarlberg.ORF.at
Vienna (OTS) – This year, ORF Vorarlberg will once again choose the most beautiful football goal of the past year in 2023. The pre-selection of the most impressive goals will take place from February 14, 2024 on vorarlberg.ORF.at. On the same day, the TV program “Vorarlberg today” (7 p.m., ORF 2 V) will also present these special hits of 2023.
You can choose from ten unique goals from Bundesliga clubs Altach and Austria Lustenau as well as FC Dornbirn and Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz from the second division. In addition, there are three women’s goals for the first time this year and also a remarkable goal from amateur football.
Vorarlberg goals with a furor
Austria Lustenau made it into the top ten with three goals despite the tough relegation battle. Altach is also represented, as are the two second division teams Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz and FC Dornbirn. There are three impressive women’s goals for the first time. Austria’s Footballer of the Year Eileen Campbell caused a stir with her long shot in the national team jersey. This also applies to the goals from Maria Olsen (SPG SCR Altach / FFC Vorderland) and the volley goal from Zdravka Petrova Parapunova from the FC Lustenau / FC Dornbirn Ladies syndicate. There is also another amateur goal to choose from, namely Eric Weixlbaumer with his “Sunday shot” from almost 70 meters for FC Nenzing in the elite league.
Expert jury and online voting
Online voting at vorarlberg.ORF.at is possible from February 14th to 19th, 2024 (2 p.m.). A panel of experts also has an important voice in this election. The top-class jury consists of Austria’s footballer of the century Herbert Prohaska, ORF expert Helge Payer, ex-team player Sonja Player, women’s academy coach Sonja Baldauf, VFV President Horst Lumper, AS Monaco coach Adi Hütter, Olympic Center managing director Sebastian Manhart and the sports editorial teams of ORF Vorarlberg and Vorarlberger Nachrichten (VN).
Freestyle at “Night of Football” with Russmedia
The winning goal is determined half from the online voting and half from the votes of the expert jury. The “Goal of the Year 2023” will be chosen at the “Night of Football” on February 19th at Casino Bregenz. At this event, held jointly by ORF Vorarlberg and Russmedia for the first time, the evening is all about Vorarlberg football.
