Episode two with six singles from Carinthia, Styria, Lower Austria, Vienna, Upper Austria and Salzburg
Vienna (OTS) – In the second edition of the new season of “Love Stories and Marriage Matters” on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 8:15 p.m. on ORF 2 and from 9:00 a.m. on ORF ON, Nina Horowitz once again accompanies six lonely hearts looking for a partner. This time the three women and three men come from Carinthia, Styria, Lower Austria, Vienna, Upper Austria and Salzburg. The oldest candidate among them, 80-year-old Styrian Anschi, has decided to give fate a nudge with the help of the show. She wants to find a “normal” man with certain advantages, but she doesn’t want him to believe that he can move in with her. “If it’s right, he can come in on an outpatient basis. I don’t have an admission ticket anymore!” says the fun-loving single lady.
An overview of all six candidates on the show.
Martin, 53-year-old production employee from Carinthia, wants to find true love with the help of the show. “I think so, yes …,” the firefighter answers mischievously when asked whether men in uniform are sexy. “I get very positive feedback from the ladies.” He can also explain why he is still single: “We don’t wear the uniform that often,” jokes the Lavanttaler, who has had a sad experience behind him. He says his ex-wife cheated on him with a mutual acquaintance. “I caught her in his apartment.” Martin already suspected it, he says in the conversation. “But you only believe it when you see it.” Fortunately, the pain is now a thing of the past! During filming, the candidate proves that he cuts a dazzling figure on land and water. He cruises through the streets on his motorcycle and also feels completely at home when swimming in the lake. The Carinthian longs for togetherness, for a woman he can cuddle up to and cuddle with. He is open to women of all nationalities and can hardly wait for love to hit him like lightning. When asked whether he would like a lot of letters, Martin answers confidently: “No, just the right one.”
Anschi, a retired 80-year-old saleswoman from Styria, has decided to give fate a nudge. The lively single lady wants to fall in love again and knows exactly what she wants: “I don’t need an engineer. I just want a normal man who can greet properly, is friendly and has a sense of humor. I appreciate the simple things in life.” When asked whether the amateur dancer and passionate card player is looking for a comrade or a lover, she quickly counters: “If so, then I want a lover! I have enough comrades, but no lover.” But wait! Please don’t let the new man think that he can stay with Anschi straight away. “There is no talk of moving in at all. If it’s appropriate, he can come in on an outpatient basis. I don’t have an admission ticket any more!” Anschi has had an eventful life. “I met my first husband as a young woman. We were together for 20 years. Then it fell apart. The second marriage was terrible. This was a fanatic. He just controlled me. He would have preferred to lock me in a glass box. And the third man was fantastic. But in the end he was very seriously ill and then unfortunately died.” The Styrian woman really misses the tenderness in her life.
Heinz, 67 years old, a retired businessman, comes from Lower Austria. He loves playing tennis. He even converted his front yard into a tennis court. At the moment he is still playing with his daughter, but perhaps a new lady will soon take her place. The busy single knows exactly who he wants. “She should be loving and have a certain level of femininity. Like Sophia Loren, for example.” Heinz had no luck with various platforms on the Internet, so he asked Nina Horowitz for help. “You just come across more naturally here. A video says more than any photos.” During the “Love Stories” shoot, the Lower Austrian goes around with his red lawn tractor so that the ladies who want to write to him can also admire his well-kept garden. The candidate was married three times. The third woman was the love of his life, he says in an interview. “She fainted the first time I kissed her. I don’t know if I can kiss that well. But I do it with love,” he says very confidently. This marriage lasted for 27 years. His wife died in 2009. “It took me a long time to get over this pain,” Heinz says very openly in the interview. “But now I’m ready for the last, hopefully big, love.”
Coco, 61, a retired psychotherapist from Vienna, is looking for fulfilling love after an eventful time. “My mother always encouraged me to take part in ‘Love Stories’ because she thought I was lonely,” she says in the interview. A few months ago her mother died. “Out of this situation of being alone and grieving at home, I decided to just give it a try!” The style-conscious Viennese explains to Nina Horowitz in an interview: “My best friend gave me the name Coco because he thinks I look very similar with Coco Chanel when it comes to clothing style,” she says. “So just classic, straightforward, no frills, no frills or frills.” Although the single lady was married twice and the marriages didn’t last, she hasn’t given up hope of true love. “For example, I would also like an older man who is caring and educated. “Education doesn’t have to mean academic education, but it can also mean education of the heart and common sense,” she enthuses. Coco is open to a relationship and a home together, but her apartment would be too small for two. But such a move is not a calamity when it comes to true love.
Hans, a 66-year-old barber from Upper Austria, who describes himself as a nature-loving romantic and dreams of a harmonious love relationship, is also retired. “I have my talents and if the woman also brings her talents and we attract each other as if we were both magnets – she the South Pole, I the North Pole – then we could make this ball spin and that’s what we call the globe.” However, the magnetic needle of his love compass has already failed once when his ex-wife ran off to the Caribbean with a diving instructor. “She’s probably still sitting there on some houseboat.” Despite this experience, Hans hasn’t lost his romantic streak and hasn’t given up the search for love and devotion. Between the traditional and the alternative, he lives in the idyllic Hausruckviertel and surprisingly describes his dream woman as “a mixture of Tina Turner and Brigitte Bardot”. But his ideas about the ideal lady of his heart go in a different direction. “A completely natural woman, just as she is depicted on the young farmers’ calendars. A sexy dirndl and a natural style – I like that.” The pensioner describes himself as very cosmopolitan. In the interview he talks emotionally about his happy childhood with his grandparents in Transylvania. Hans remembers carefree days on the farm, his parents’ emigration to Austria and the soulful reunion with his grandparents years later. And he also puts a dash on the dance floor during the “Love Stories” shoot. The new woman in his life can expect a lot!
Monika, 76, a retired textile merchant from Salzburg, chose the “love stories and marriage stuff” because she longs for a man in her life again. The single lady loves traveling in her motorhome. But camping isn’t just her passion. “My son lives in Hong Kong and I visit him there often.” A couch potato wouldn’t exactly be the best for Monika. For the future, the woman from Hallein wants a loyal partner who is “tall, not too fat and not too slim”. There were not only rosy times in her life, she also had to cope with a severe blow of fate. Her husband died in a tragic accident after 40 years of marriage. “He fell off the roof while sweeping the snow. That was absolutely terrible. If I hadn’t had my children, I don’t know what I would have done,” the candidate remembers gratefully. In the interview she expresses the wish:
“I want to experience a lot for the rest of my life and enjoy every day as if it were the last!” She sees Richard Lugner as a hedonistic role model. “He lives his life to the fullest.” But, Monika then emphasizes, the builder is too old for her as a man.
