Musical fireworks were set off in the Congress Center Villach on Saturday evening: for the first time, an entire orchestra “concerted” to international DJ beats.
On Saturday evening, “George Symphonics” transformed the Congress Center Villach into a sound world the likes of which Carinthia has never heard before: A 50-piece orchestra with Carinthian musicians played the greatest house live on Saturday evening to the beats of the international star DJ Milk & Sugar – and techno classics. This exclusive event, presented by Antenne Kärnten and Kärntner Sparkasse, was a real feast for the ears of the invited guests. You couldn’t buy tickets for it, because the music event of the year was held exclusively for Sparkasse and Antenne Club members as well as for invited business and social partners.
“My hits, my Carinthia. “Tonight our slogan takes on a whole new dimension,” says Antenne Managing Director Gottfried Bichler. “What’s better for being the number one daytime accompanist in the country than being a musical pioneer live? With Kärntner Sparkasse we have a strong partner at our side who successfully combines tradition and modernity.”
“With George Symphonics we are breaking new ground in the musical experience. Classical music paired with DJ sound is unique in Austria and a very special sound experience. The Carinthian Music Association has been supported by the Kärntner Sparkasse for an incredible 149 years. We are really proud of this oldest cultural sponsorship!” says Michael Koren, CEO of Kärntner Sparkasse AG.
An orchestra meets DJ beats – a musical fireworks display
The audience was thrilled: Milk & Sugar from Munich acted as the “control center” and, together with the orchestra, created a stage on which house and techno classics such as Levels by Avicii, Sky and Sand by Paul Kalkbrenner and One More Time by Daft Punk were reinterpreted orchestrally. “Unimaginable is a good description,” enthuses star DJ Milk & Sugar. “Austria has never heard of a setting like this, let alone seen it.” Afterwards, the party continued into the night at the Antenne Kärnten after-show party.
Best of Music Special
Of course there is “George Symphonics” for everyone who couldn’t be there live or who wants to experience it again to listen to: on Sunday from 6 p.m. in the big music special on Antenne Kärnten with program director Timm Bodner and at any time after the broadcast on antenne. at.
“With George Symphonics, Antenne Kärnten has once again proven that radio can not only be heard, but experienced up close – in the spirit of radio from Carinthia for Carinthia,” Bichler concludes.
