As part of this year’s International Digital Security Forum (IDSF), an internationally occupied discussion took place under the title “The Next Generation of Trusted Data Sharing (GAIA-X)”, which devoted itself to the future of sovereign digital ecosystems. Under the direction of Roland FadranyChief Operating Officer of the GAIA-X Initiative, Expert discussed: inside from Europe and Asia about the crucial role of sovereign data spaces for a resilient and competitive digital economy.
“GAIA-X enables companies to use data trustingly and confidently through a global, standardized and transparent trust framework. Because data has become a central asset for digital ecosystems and AI strategies, this Trust Framework is the foundation for competitiveness in global value chains. So that the participants can protect their digital sovereignty GAIA-X implemented a series of federated trust services that are operated by independent Gala-X Digital Clearing Houses. – Roland Fadrany
Together with Senadin Alisic (Strategy Advisor, Combitech AB, Sweden), Detlef Eckert (Founder Deep Digital Consulting B.V., Author of “40 Years of European Digital Policies“, Belgium) und Insuk Kim (President of Korean-German Association of Economics and Management (KDGW), CEO of Handa Forum, South Korea) was discussed how data rooms based on open standards are shaped into confident data eco systems and thus the basis for a trusting global data economy.
Insuk Kim strokes the special importance of Gaia-X for the economic cooperation between Korea and Europe. She is currently working on applications and solutions between European and Korean companies in the areas of smart cities, production, health and energy.
Digital ecosystems form the basis for a competitive and self -determined digital economy. Standard -compliant, sovereign data spaces form the basis in order to be able to assert yourself in the competition of global value chains. This session has shown how Gaia-X can support companies by using the Gaia-X Trust Frameworks to use data trustingly, confidently and beyond corporate and national borders.
Against the background of geopolitical tensions and increasing platform addiction, the discussion participants underlined: inside the urgency: Sovereign data infrastructures are not a “Nice-to-have”, but essential for economic future viability, innovative strength and digital resilience. With Gaia-X, a growing network develops that Technological solutions, regulatory principles and international cooperation united. The session at the #IDSF25 made it clear: Data sovereignty is not an abstract vision, but a global joint project-and Gaia-X is an active driver of this change.
