Future plan Austria 2030: Federal Minister Polaschek confirms the Chancellor’s vision for the future of education

Polaschek: “Our schools must be places of achievement that make students fit for the future”

Wels (OTS) The future of Austrian schools and universities is a key point in the Austria 2030 future plan. Martin Polaschek, Federal Minister of Education, Science and Research, emphasized after Chancellor Karl Nehammer’s future speech: “We have a clear vision and a very good plan for Austria as an education, science and university location. Our schools must be places of achievement that prepare students for the future. Our Federal Chancellor, Karl Nehammer, summed it up in his speech about the future: ‘Education means preparing young people for the fact that the world we live in will be completely different in the next few years.’ This is what we are working for and this is what we will continue to work for in the future, because every child in our country deserves the best education.”

Polaschek continues: “The idea of achievement in schools and in the entire educational sector is particularly important and necessary so that students can fully develop their full potential for themselves and for society. That’s why school grades and the Matura are so important. In doing so, we prepare young people for life and the world of work.”

In the area of education, an important focus has already been placed on the future area of MINT (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology) and on the acquisition of digital skills. Strengthening trust in science and democracy is also a central concern of Federal Minister Polaschek. Numerous projects have already been initiated for this purpose. The “Class Job” initiative and the reform of teacher training programs will also ensure that there are enough well-trained teachers teaching in Austria’s classes in the long term.
