In Memoriam Claus Peymann there are further program changes in ORF III: In a special edition of “Kulturt Heutse” under the title “Claus Peymann: Master of the Provocation” (7.50 p.m.), Peter Fässlacher welcomes the actress and director Maria Happel to a conversation on Saturday, July 19, 2025. This is followed by the “Zeit.Chiche” documentary “Austria’s-the Heldenplatz scandal” (8:15 p.m.).
A special TV moment awaits the viewers on Sunday, July 20th: After a Dacapo of “Fate Day in Austria-the Heldenplatz-Scandal” (9:45 p.m.), ORF III at 10:35 p.m. is presenting the premiere of the premiere of Thomas Bernhards to the scandal under the drama “Heldenplatz” in the Vienna Burgtheater under the direction of Claus Peymann The 1988. For the first time in more than 25 years (last shown in 2000 in 3sat), this unique document of Austrian theater and television history can be seen on TV.
The piece “Heldenplatz” is a settlement with the Austrian post -war period. The plot takes place after the death of Professor Josef Schuster, who, recently reinforcing anti -Semitism, plunges out of the window of his apartment on heroic. Family and friends discuss suicide, Austrian politics and society as well as the role of National Socialism.
The original line -up consists of Wolfgang Gasser (Robert Schuster), Kirsten Dene (Anna), Elisabeth Rath (Olga), Martin Schwab (Lukas), Marianne Hoppe (Hedwig), Frank Hoffmann (Professor Liebig), Bibiana Zeller (Ms. Liebig), Detlev Eckstein (Mr. Landauer), Anneliese Römer (Ms. Zittel) and Therese Affolter (Herta).
