Vienna (OTS) – As the market leader in the IT sector of the public sector, the BRZ has an above-average proportion of women of around 24%, both among employees and managers, and the proportion of women in management is 50%. The BRZ has also been implementing measures to support women within the company and to increase equal opportunities and diversity for many years, including the federal cross mentoring program.
Federal cross mentoring program
For 17 years, experienced BRZ managers have been sharing their expertise with women who take part in the federal cross mentoring program. BRZ mentor Patrizia Pekarek, Head of Finance & Legal, and BRZ Mentor Johann Siegl, Head of Platform as a Service & ERP, supported the participants of this year’s cohort and gave tips on career planning.

Promoting women in the BRZ: around 24 percent of women in the company
The BRZ has been implementing measures to support women within the company and to increase equal opportunities and diversity for many years. Furthermore, the BRZ has been certified according to the “Career & Family” audit since 2005 and therefore demonstrably takes a number of measures to sustainably support the compatibility of work and family. In the BRZ’s internal young management program in 2023, the proportion of women was 54 percent, and in 2022 it was even 58 percent. With career and further training events such as the BRZ FemCareerNight and participation in programs such as KOMPASS from the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF), shegoesdigital or Daughters’ Day, the BRZ continuously supports women in their personal career development or in entering the IT industry.
About the federal cross mentoring program
The Cross Mentoring Program is a development program tailored to women and is intended to make it easier for women to access top positions with decision-making and design opportunities. A special feature of the federal government’s cross mentoring is that experienced managers from administration or government-related companies such as the BRZ support their mentees who want to develop professionally.
