FPÖ Styria and the Styrian People’s Party are in the final stages of negotiations!

Graz (OTS) –

The Styrian government negotiations continue to make good progress. The last few days were characterized by constructive discussions and well-founded exchanges of content. The Freedom Party and the Styrian People’s Party will hold the final votes over the weekend and aim to present a new state government at the beginning of next week. In addition to the measures already communicated on Tuesday, three further concrete projects that the FPÖ Styria and the Styrian People’s Party have agreed on can be announced:

  • Strengthening Styria as a business location:
A new strategic location partnership made up of representatives from business and industry as well as relevant stakeholders will be established and a “Styria Plan” with specific investment projects will be developed in order to provide impetus for revitalizing the Styrian economy.

  • Establishment of a “care master plan”:
In order to implement further improvements in the nursing sector as efficiently as possible, all forecasts and planning projects relevant to the nursing sector are bundled in a “Master Plan for Nursing Styria”.

  • Preschool for better language skills
If children’s language skills are assessed as inadequate during the language assessment in the last year of kindergarten, a compulsory preschool year to learn the language of instruction is aimed for.

FPÖ state party chairman KO Mario Kunasek: “As part of our negotiations, strengthening Styria as a business location was high on the agenda. It is important to provide the necessary impulses as quickly as possible. To this end, we want to work with stakeholders and independent economic experts to develop concrete investment projects in order to best support the local economy. In particular, infrastructure measures and investments in affordable housing should be promoted. In addition, with the establishment of a ‘care master plan’, we see an important liberal demand being implemented, which can effectively promote further improvements in the care sector. We want to give care the importance it deserves from a socio-political perspective.”

STVP state party chairman, state governor Christopher Drexler: “In the previous rounds of negotiations, we were able to agree on a number of important measures for the future of our Styria. We agreed from the start that the international competitiveness of Styria as a business location must be the highest priority for a future state government. With the location partnership, we want to work together with business and industry to take exactly the right measures and targeted investments in the right places that will strengthen our Styrian economy and secure jobs. We also want to include a number of projects for even better social coexistence in our program. This includes ensuring the best care, tailored precisely to the needs of Styrians. In order to live together successfully, you also need sufficient language skills – that’s why we want to use a preschool model to support children in learning the language of instruction.
