“Today’s interview in the Kronenzeitung is a terrifying document of the lack of ideas of an irresponsible city council,” clarifies Vienna FPÖ boss Dominik Nepp about today’s conversation with SPÖ city councilor Peter Hacker. In addition, the SPÖ city council has exposed itself as a liar if he claims that every child in Vienna is worth the same thing: “This is not the case! Because while children from large families from the Arab region get money from the city in minimum security, children from honest parents do not receive this. Where is social justice here?” Asks Nepp.
While Vienna’s pensioners, patients and taxpayers suffer from exploding costs every day, waiting times and reduction in performance, Hacker provides nothing but excuses, blame and vague announcements. He remains completely guilty of concrete measures.
Hacker’s lack of planning is particularly evident in the clinic expansion. When asked about the urgently needed hospital projects in Ottakring, Hietzing or Favorites, the city council itself admits: “In this form, certainly not.” – without putting a single alternative proposal or financing path on the table. “Anyone who cannot say in the middle of a massive health crisis of the Viennese population how hospitals are being expanded and general practitioners are to be relieved has lost in office,” said Nepp.
Instead of taking responsibility, Hacker permanently refers to the federal government – be it when it comes to German courses, minimum security or in hospital financing. “This is nothing more than an oath of revelation: Hacker is unable to lead Vienna on his own and hides behind excuses. A city council that only names problems but does not provide solutions is completely unusable for the people in this city,” criticizes Nepp.
Hacker’s handling of the minimum security debate is also particularly exposed. Instead of clearly recognizing that more and more immigrants in Vienna live on social benefits and thus often have more money in the month than earn busy Austrians, Hacker tries to talk or even discuss this reality. “While Viennese families hardly make any rounds with honest work, Syrian or large -scale Afghan families without gainful employment collect thousands of euros from the minimum security. The fact that the responsible city council not only ignores this injustice, but also defends it with absurd excuses, shows how far the SPÖ has already moved away from the reality of people,” emphasizes Nepp.
The FPÖ calls for a clear master plan for the Viennese hospitals so that expansion projects are not pushed to the long bank, the deletion of minimum security for non-Austrians, to finally ensure performance justice for working Viennese, as well as the immediate relief of pensioners and patients who should not be further stressed with higher contributions and increasing fees, while at the same time the services in the healthcare system are returned.
“Hacker talks a lot about ‘justice’, but he only delivers a standstill, irresponsibility and excuses. Vienna finally needs a city council that tackles instead of looking at.
