“Our New Year’s resolution is clear: the system has to go. In the local council election on January 26th, it is the citizens who have their say and not out-of-touch mayors and elites. On January 26th, the voter sets the line and the only task of politics is to implement this line. There must be an end to the fact that the community hall is the extended arm of the party headquarters,” said FPÖ Lower Austria state party secretary Alexander Murlasits at the press conference on the occasion of the start of the FPÖ Lower Austria’s intensive election campaign.
Unfortunately, 2025 will begin the same way it ended – with inflation and burdens: “According to the motto: the masses should bleed. The increase in the CO2 penalty tax, more expensive energy prices, the introduction of a costly deposit system are the farewell gift from Black-Green and the sour welcome treat of the horror traffic light,” said Murlasits.
But politics should first and foremost relieve people, which is why a system change is needed right now. “We are continuing the honest and consistent path of Herbert Kickl and Udo Landbauer. What has happened at the federal and state level is also good for the community,” said Murlasits with conviction.
“The aloofness of mayors who simply place themselves above the law and allow election posters to be dismantled should also come to an end,” said Murlasits, referring to one of the new election posters that reads “More Citizens, Less Masters.” The Corona topic is also deliberately included in the topic complex with a theme “Corona – We don’t forget”. “Remember, many, many mayors were in the front row when it came to vaccination routes and the madness of compulsory masks.” With the posters “Right now” and “Your heart says yes – FPÖ” they want to bring about a turnaround together with their compatriots and united in better times are approaching.
Wiener Neustadt’s top candidate LAbg. Philipp Gerstenmayer explained how important free local politics is: “We always and at all times put people at the center. We listen first, then act, always standing by the citizens. Unfortunately, many other parties only become active when elections are coming up.”
As is well known, the financial situation of many communities is tense. “Smart investments in the quality of life of citizens, as well as measures for security, housing and social meeting places are the priorities in these difficult times.” The inn of a community as a social hub is part of the soul of a community. “It is essential for social life – for celebrations, family gatherings, clubs and political debates between citizens of all ages,” says Gerstenmayer.
“The election campaign will be short, intense, honest. We are looking for direct contact with people,” concluded Philipp Gerstenmayer.
