FPÖ misses the Federal Government’s willingness to save itself

The impending budget decisions prompted the Federal Councilor of Freedomers in today’s meeting of the Federal Councilto make an urgent request to Finance Minister Markus Marterbauer. In it, the free criticism of the planned budget renovation measures by the federal government practiced. While further burdens are coming to the population, the federal government is also ready to transfer Austrian tax money abroad, for example for the support of Ukraine. At the same time, the government is apparently not willing to save in its own ministries, according to the tenor of the criticism expressed in the urgent request.

FPÖ: Government burdens the population, but does not save on yourself

In the Urgent request The Lower Austrian FPÖ Federal Councilor Andreas Arthur Spanring and Michael Bernard were involved in the individual areas in which the finance minister should be saved in the next few years: for example in family and pension benefits, in public security or in the health and social system. At the same time, it is becoming apparent that Austria now has “the most expensive federal government of all time”. This wants to save on the population, but find money “for external and often questionable purposes” again and again, be it for a larger government apparatus, expensive company cars, EU payments, abroad or an EU weapons fund. This is a “policy of double standards and priority shift”, which is decidedly rejected and deeply unjust.

The freedoms criticized the part of the budget consolidation that the government itself affects. Brussels had been reported that the departments wanted to save 15 % of the factual expenses. However, current media reports would suggest that the federal government “no longer takes too precisely”, the request says. Several departments would apparently prefer to save the services for the citizens than with themselves.

Spanring and Bernard therefore addressed the Federal Minister of Finance numerous detailed questions about the savings destinations in the individual ministries. They wanted to know which measures the individual ministries wanted to achieve the savings goal of 15 % of the factual effort and how to comply with compliance with these savings targets. They also asked for information about how an EU deficit procedure would affect Austria.

The title “Money abroad, burdens of their own citizens and no more speech about saving in the ministries” evaluated Andreas Arthur Spanring (FPÖ/N) in his speech to justify the urgent request as a precise summary of the “budget of the shame”. The planned estimate is “hostile to Austria” and anti -performance, “sustainably harmful” and with regard to savings for families and pensioners “anti -social”. The government takes the money to the hard work and give it to the lazy. The freedoms would commit themselves to the welfare state as a sanctuary for the weak, but not to the “social hammock,” said Spanring, referring to high sums that would be paid for social benefits for non -Austrians. This missed politics in particular shook the xenophobia and split society, he said. In the sense of a “saving tip”, the FPÖ Federal Council advocated controlled immigration and “remigration”.

The Federal Government’s renovation package is actually a stress package, said Spanring. It is saved in the wrong places, for example in the security or health area. In other places, however, the money is thrown out of the window, for example with transfers to the EU or Ukraine.

Michael Bernard (FPÖ/N) also criticized the double budget with regard to bloated administration and prestige projects as a “document of failure”. The Federal Council was particularly located in security and national defense, but also in nursing and agriculture.

Herbert Kober (FPÖ/ST) said that the budget shows investments in the army, but ultimately represents a security policy step backwards. There is a great discrepancy between what is on paper and what is actually important in the troop. In view of increasing demands on the army in challenging times, the government’s budget course is unacceptable.

Marlies Steiner-Wieser (FPÖ/S) located in the budget plans a “hidden pension cut” and criticized that it was “freezing cold and insensitive” when the finance minister started to save on those who had worked throughout their lives and contributed to wealth. Lack of personnel, structural overload, lack of recognition and increasing political pressure, Sandra Jäckel (FPÖ/V) located in the executive area. She called for a “sustainable reform”. The “catastrophic” budget situation means that service providers “were” calm “, while others like supporters: inside of a” failed asylum policy “, also said Werner Gradwohl (FPÖ/St). He also called for the reduction of development and foreign aid to a “reasonable level”.

Finance Minister: State budget needs renovation

Finance Minister Markus Marterbauer, on the other hand, described the budget as fact -based, transparent and scientifically well -founded. Since the state of state finances is extremely bad, it requires renovation, according to his view. A budget without renovation is not sustainable or not sustainable, he explained the large renovation package and dealt with both revenue and output measures in the budget renovation laws and in the budget accompanying law. They would be accompanied by offensive measures, such as investments in the business location, the labor market, education, security and health system or care, he said. Securing the pensions in the long term is an essential task of the federal government.

Marterbauer does not see a deficit procedure as a problem. He assumes that this will be initiated on July 8 at the meeting of the EU finance ministers. Under no circumstances means the EU’s requirements for Austrian politics, the finance minister emphasized.

Marterbauer also explained that the family services were not shortened, but that the family tax and family allowance would not be increased. At the same time, investments are made in the families, for example through the second mandatory kindergarten year, he said. All children are worth the same, no matter where they came from, says Marterbauer.

Climate protection is also a goal of the federal government. To spend funding on a large scale, you can no longer afford, the finance minister said. There is an “economic realism” into climate policy that secures the achievement of the climate goals.

The Federal Government also saves comprehensively in the administration, whereby it is proceeding as economic as possible. The ministries, which are queried by the freedom, are flexible in their savings destinations, but there is not a single department that does not save, said Marterbauer. The details can be found in the budget subdivisions and in the strategy report. The concrete implementation is responsible for the responsible ministers, and the payout limits are regulated. Due to the ongoing controlling, any deviations would be recognized quickly and could initiate countermeasures.

Marterbauer also said that the budget renovation was not completed after the double budget. He was optimistic that a reduction in government debt would succeed.

ÖVP: Federal government faces the challenges

The current budget situation is undoubtedly challenging, said Federal Councilor Matthias Zauner (ÖVP/N). The freedoms would address the problems, but would not solve them. Rather, they have made many demands in recent years, the implementation of which would have heavily burdened the budget. As far as the budget deficit is concerned, he has to “move” that the auxiliary payments of recent years have not simply “gone” away. However, the money has not been in consumption in many cases, but now lies on savings books. He does not want to gloss over anything here, because mistakes have undoubtedly been made in recent years. Now the federal government is working on the situation and implementing a package of a wide variety of measures. The second budget renovation measures that passed the Federal Council today is an important step here. In a second speech, Zauner emphasized improvements for municipalities through the municipal investment program and said goodbye to the Federal Council.

Christoph Thoma (ÖVP/V) emphasized the “excellent work” of the finance minister and the State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance for the financial stability.

SPÖ: Budget measures secure the health and social system

The renovation of the budget needs trust and confidence, said Manfred Mertel (SPÖ/K). Since Austria has to meet the Maastricht criteria, the countries, local authorities and social security institutions would also have to make their contribution. In the budget renovation measures law, Mertel saw a significant contribution to securing the health and social system. It is encouraging that the federal government wants to massively invest in education even in times of budget renovation. A wide variety of solutions are needed for the current challenges. He wanted to invite the free, to propose constructive solutions and to become part of the “Team Austria” again, said Mertel.

Against the background of an impending reorganization of the Federal Council Mandate, Federal Councilor Stefan Schennach (SPÖ/W) took stock of his work in the Band Ask. As a mandatar of the Federal Council, you can also move a lot internationally, for example in international bodies such as the Council of Europe.

Greens: AUSTRITY AUSTRIATION AUSTRITION In the case of climate protection

Marco Schreuder (Greens/W) met with allegations by the FPÖ that EU funds had “disappeared” in Ukraine. These claims are “fake news” based on the twisting of actual processes. The investments criticized by the FPÖ in a global security architecture are also not a “wasted money”. If you want to criticize the federal government’s budget course, it must start from the Greens’ point of view that the “demolition bulb” against climate protection is proceeding. There is no climate protection much more expensive than investments in climate protection. Not only would massive fines threaten if the climate goals in Austria are unreasonable, climate change itself also causes high costs. A central point of criticism is that the measures would make the poorest parts of the population much more proportionally than the wealthiest groups. Schreuder was convinced that the waiver of climate-damaging subsidies that a sensible federalism and tax reform would have brought a socially balanced billion to budget renovation.

In an actual correction, FPÖ Federal Councilor Spanring rejected the allegation of Federal Councilor Schreuder that he spread “fake news” about corruption in Ukraine.

NEOS: Budget creates balance of savings and future investments

Manuela-Anna Sumah-Vospernik (NEOS/W) said that the FPÖ had once again proven that it was a single-issue party that comes to the immigration topic with every question. The suggestions that the FPÖ brought during the government negotiations were much less balanced than what was now available. The present budget find a good balance between saving on the one hand and important investments in education and thus in the future of children and youth on the other.
