Red housing scandal is increasingly coming to light – FPÖ demands immediate disclosure of all contracts and personnel consequences
Vienna (OTS) – On the occasion of the current uncover story in “Profil”, according to which the Vienna SPÖ has not paid any rent increases for 12 of its party premises (ÖVP and KPÖ each) in municipal buildings for decades, the club chairman of the Vienna FPÖ, Maximilian Krauss, is calling for comprehensive consequences. “The FPÖ contacted the city auditors regarding the tenancies of parties in municipal buildings, which unfortunately hardly revealed any figures and relied on business secrets. Apparently it was a friendly service by the examiners for the SPÖ. According to current research, it is clear that the SPÖ was and remains spared from rent increases, while private tenants were confronted with multiple and massive increases. “So it’s clear: The robber at Rathausplatz, SPÖ Mayor Ludwig, is protecting his party’s wallet, but is ripping off the other municipal building tenants,” criticizes Krauss.
Krauss is outraged that the SPÖ and Wiener Wohnen refuse to provide any information about the tenancy conditions and the amount of the rent. “If the SPÖ does not provide any answers, then it is already clear that there is an incredible housing scandal lurking here. Wiener Wohnen’s argument that rental agreements can no longer be found due to water damage also sounds like a blatant lie.”
Furthermore, the Viennese FPÖ club chairman demands clarification as to why the premises rented by the SPÖ are also used by the board of trustees of Vienna’s pensioners’ apartment buildings and under what conditions.
“It can be assumed that this cheap rental by the City of Vienna is an illegal party donation for the Vienna SPÖ. I assume that the Independent Party Transparency will immediately address this red scandal and that the court will also force the disclosure of these rental agreements. If this cheapest rental agreement to the SPÖ is confirmed, there will have to be extensive personnel consequences from the mayor downwards,” emphasizes Krauss.
