FPÖ – Kaniak on World Health Day: “After new elections, things can only go up!” | Freedom Parliamentary Club

Vienna (OTS) “Nothing learned, nothing achieved, but money destroyed.” This is how the liberal health spokesman and chairman of the parliamentary health committee NAbg commented. Mag. Gerhard Kaniak describes the “track record” of the black-green federal government on the occasion of World Health Day tomorrow. The sad thing about it is that there has been no improvement at all compared to the previous year or even since the ÖVP and Greens’ health policy chaos team took office.

“Closed departments in the hospitals, dissatisfied nursing staff who are also treated poorly, a serious shortage of doctors, combined with supply bottlenecks in rural areas and crazy ‘suggestions for improving the situation’ by the now third Green Health Minister of the current legislative period create problems that ultimately have to be borne by the patient “, says Kaniak.

The money that is so desperately missing from our health system has literally been burned by the ÖVP and the Greens. The vaccine purchases worth millions are still dubious and a revelation of black-green murmuring and cronyism. The only good thing is the expiry date of this federal government, after which things can only go uphill, the FPÖ health spokesman continued.

“The liberal ‘six-point plan’ cannot be repeated often enough in this context, the concept is on the table, but the ÖVP and the Greens continue to negate every proposal from the FPÖ to save the health system. This plan includes, for example, the evaluation of personnel requirements at all levels, financial fairness with bonuses and overtime payments, de-bureaucratization and expansion of skills, the continued employment of older doctors and expanded training, a scholarship model and finally the integration of elective doctors into the health insurance system with the lifting of the ban on dual employment. , explained Kaniak.

But the framework conditions for studying human medicine, specialist training and specific career planning must also be designed in the future so that Austrian students have the best conditions for studying and, after successful completion, can start and continue their career as doctors in the Austrian health system. This also means that successful graduates of a medical degree receive a guarantee of training in the public health system! “This is the only way the need for doctors can really be met sustainably,” Kaniak called on the federal government to finally agree to the liberal catalog of measures.
