FPÖ is ready for fair and honest politics in Vienna
Vienna (OTS) –

“Honesty and credibility are the greatest assets in politics. But that is exactly what Mayor Ludwig has shamefully squandered in the last few days,” said Vienna FPÖ state party chairman City Councilor Dominik Nepp on the occasion of the new election debate in the Vienna City Council. Just a few days ago, Ludwig assured that the city government was functioning well and would work until the end of the legislative period. “But just hours later he did the opposite and called early elections. How are the people of Vienna supposed to trust this mayor?”

Nepp emphasized that the FPÖ is well prepared and has already started its “fairness tour”. “Our goal is to finally steer Vienna towards fairness again. We stand for the hard-working Viennese, for those who have found themselves in need through no fault of their own and for pensioners who have contributed to the preservation of our society throughout their lives.”

Nepp sees the real reasons for the early elections in the catastrophic budget situation of the city of Vienna. “The financial statements would have to be published in June, and then the truth would come to light: Vienna has accumulated an incredible 16 billion euros in debt under the SPÖ. Since 2020 alone, a deficit of 14.8 billion euros has been produced, even though the Viennese were paid out at the same time.”

Nepp emphasized that an average household lost 3,500 euros due to the burdens in Vienna alone, and pensioners lost around 2,400 euros due to the Vienna SPÖ policy. “Instead of being honest, the SPÖ is spreading panic about an FPÖ-led federal government that would actually bring urgently needed reforms and fairness.”

“A Chancellor Herbert Kickl would not be a danger, but an opportunity for Austria and Vienna. With a federal government led by the FPÖ, 1,000 additional police officers could finally be implemented for Vienna – an increase in security that Ludwig himself demands but does not implement. Measures could also be taken in municipal housing in Vienna, where there is a renovation backlog of five billion euros. It is unacceptable that tenants suffer from mold in their apartments while the city does nothing,” explains Nepp.

Instead of recognizing this opportunity, the SPÖ is sulking because the Babler-Ludwig duo failed to participate in the government. In any case, their goal would only have been to pass on Vienna’s horrendous minimum security costs to the other federal states. Therefore: If the government comes into being with an FPÖ Chancellor Kickl, that is a chance for five good years with more security and justice.
