FPÖ – Hauser: Liebherr’s short-time work requests must be approved | Freedom Parliamentary Club

The callous attitude of the ÖVP economics minister is a slap in the face to an entire region

Vienna/Lienz (OTS) The East Tyrolean household appliance manufacturer Liebherr plans to put up to 960 employees on short-time work. ÖVP Economics Minister Kocher said today that he sees this plan as economically questionable. EU MP Gerald Hauser, who comes from East Tyrol, saw it differently today: “Liebherr is a leading company in East Tyrol. If the company has to close because the callous neoliberal ÖVP minister doesn’t want to do that, then unemployment in East Tyrol will increase all at once Two percent! It would be the minister’s job to support the company. Liebherr expects the situation to ease now.”

Hauser recalled the Corona period: “Short-time work was made possible at the push of a button. Corona aid was also given to companies that were actually close to the end before Corona – including companies owned by ÖVP friends. Whatever emergency aid was possible back then must be given Now it’s even easier to work with Liebherr! East Tyrol, Upper Carinthia and the Pustertal can’t be left behind!”

Kocher’s talk is also unnecessary because he is known to have no job worries. “The ÖVP minister has already prepared his next top job. As the media reports, he is to become governor of the National Bank as part of a job-haggling deal by this government,” outraged FPÖ EU MP Gerald Hauser.
