Serious allegations continue to burden Sobotka and thus the second highest office in the state
Vienna (OTS) – “Just as one swallow does not make a summer, this one discontinuation of proceedings does not make Wolfgang Sobotka a person of integrity. The serious allegations from the Pilnacek recordings, the investigations that were only started in December by the WKStA due to pending interventions relating to the tax audit of the Erwin Pröll Foundation, the dubious financing of the Alois Mock Institute by the Novomatic gaming group and that Commitment of testing and mask companies with ties to the ÖVP paint the moral image of a key player in the ‘deep black state’,” recalled FPÖ General Secretary NAbg today. Christian Hafenecker, MA, on statements made by ÖVP National Council President Sobotka to journalists and renewed the liberal demand for his resignation: “The second highest office in this republic requires decency, cleanliness and non-partisanship. However, for Sobotka these requirements are completely foreign concepts, so he is completely unacceptable as President of the National Council!”
It is therefore “just cynical” if Sobotka, of all people, is now worried about the population’s trust in politics and political offices. “Hardly anyone has shaken the citizens’ trust more than the ÖVP with its policies that go against their interests and the overflowing black swamp of scandal in which Sobotka himself is deeply involved. But he can rest assured: in the coming National Council election, voters will restore this trust by withdrawing their trust from the ÖVP. Because the best solvent for ‘postal glue’ that is too ripe for resignation is and remains the will of the voters, the vote of the sovereign!” says Hafenecker.
