FPÖ – Hafenecker: “Minister Gewessler bears full responsibility for Italy’s transit lawsuit!” | Freedom Parliamentary Club
Vienna (OTS) –

FPÖ transport spokesman General Secretary NAbg commented today as “further evidence of the total failure of the Green Transport Minister Gewessler”. Christian Hafenecker, MA, the transit lawsuit that Italy has now filed with the European Court of Justice. “Insiders reported months ago that Gewessler had repeatedly rejected talks with the Italian Transport Minister Salvini for purely green-ideological reasons because, according to reports, she ‘didn’t want to talk to right-wing radicals’. Particularly when it comes to the transit problem, which has been unsolved for decades, dialogue with neighboring countries must be sought in order to make progress towards a viable solution, especially in the interests of the affected Tyrolean population, their health and quality of life. Here the Green anti-motorist minister, caught in her eco-Marxist tunnel vision, has failed across the board, placed her ideology above the well-being of the country and thus made herself fully responsible for this lawsuit!” said Hafenecker.

The liberal transport spokesman recalled that the then FPÖ Transport Minister Norbert Hofer was able to make progress at the Brenner Summit in Munich in 2018: “There was a consensus with fifty concrete measures between Italy, Germany and Austria, and the then EU Commissioner also agreed. The Green Minister Gewessler could not and did not want to build on this good foundation – to the detriment of Austria, as is often the case. It is therefore a ray of hope that on September 29th the voters will put an end to this green ideological activity that was made possible by the ÖVP in the first place!”
