Ecker once again calls for overdue crediting of care periods for pension purposes

Vienna (OTS) For Mother’s Day tomorrow, the liberal women’s and family spokesperson NAbg would like to thank. Rosa Ecker, MBA to all mothers in Austria for their invaluable work in the family and in society. “Women have always done valuable work for the benefit of society because they look after children and their families. Thanks go not just to the mothers alone, but to all women who provide maternal care, such as the women in childcare facilities who care for the youngest members of our society. Thank you also to all the women who look after, care for and look after their patients and older residents in hospitals and retirement homes with love and care. “The words of thanks should also be addressed to foster and crisis care mothers who open their families to other children,” said Ecker, emphasizing that women do essential things for society with their care and consideration and that they care for other people with empathy.

The FPÖ women’s spokesperson is dedicating this year’s Mother’s Day to all those women who provide valuable care. “These care activities are paid far too little and the retirement periods are only taken into account to a small extent. There is a need for action here, because women who provide care and care themselves save the general public costs when you consider the costs of childcare and those of care facilities,” said Ecker, warning that there will finally be full credit for retirement periods and the amount of the pension must.

“We are well aware of the debates about poverty among women in old age. This would be a useful area to start. Let’s finally close the gaps in employment that arise due to care and nursing work. If we finally succeed, these women would also receive an appropriate pension for their family work later on. The following must not be forgotten: Without the caring relatives – mostly women – we would not be able to manage the care of the elderly or disabled people in our country, neither in the facilities and institutions, let alone at home,” emphasized Ecker.
