“It is completely unacceptable that with Hauffgasse, Zippererstraße, Molitorgasse and Litfaßstraße, four central stops of the line 71 were canceled without replacement-and the people in the district are spent with long footpaths”, criticize the FPÖ-Simmeringer district president Daniel Eigenner and FPÖ Simmering club chairman Patrick Horn in a common statement.
A replacement bus (71e) was set up – it only drives to St. Marx. The Simmeringer section remains completely without replacement. “This is an intolerable condition, especially for elderly or reduced mobility,” says Eigen.
“The district council has closed behind the application of a rail replacement traffic,” emphasizes Horn. “But the red-pink city government seems to be completely irrelevant-a slap in the face for everyone affected.”
The FPÖ therefore calls for the immediate establishment of a continuous, barrier-free replacement bus in the district area-until the resumption of the regular operation of line 71. “Simmering has a right to fair and accessible public connections-even during construction sites,” said Eigner and Horn.
