“Reading” by the Green EU leading candidate at a Vienna high school was simply waved through
Vienna (OTS) – The Vienna Education Directorate is responsible for a very special example of green indoctrination. She allowed a “reading” by former Lobautunnel rioter Lena Schilling at a Viennese high school, even though Schilling had been nominated as the Green Party’s top candidate for the EU elections eight days earlier. For FPÖ education spokesman NAbg. For Hermann Brückl, this behavior is a scandal: “An education directorate simply cannot achieve something like that. No attempt was even made to invite candidates from other parties to this event in order to give everyone the same opportunities. There must be consequences for this ‘green bonus club’ in the Vienna Education Directorate!”
In the answer to the query from ÖVP Education Minister Polaschek it is also stated that “the students also asked the speaker very critical questions (e.g.: How do you feel about the so-called “climate glue” protests? To what extent were the unauthorized forms of protest against them? “Lobauautobahn” and the “city street” are permissible? Where do you see limits to the permissibility of political forms of protest in civil society based on the rule of law?). Just the prime example of a “critical question,” Brückl could only shake his head.
However, as the ÖVP minister also announced, his ministry would use the case as an opportunity to expressly point out the applicable provisions on political balance and the ban on indoctrination to the education directorates and in particular the school supervision during a staff meeting. “This note might have been appropriate before Schilling’s election campaign appearance. In the interests of balance, it would be desirable if the approximately 170 students present at the time were also allowed to hear the positions of the other campaigning parties on the EU election at another event,” said FPÖ education spokesman NAbg. Hermann Brückl.
