Vienna (OTS) – The cultural spokesman of the Vienna FPÖ, LAbg. Stefan Berger, calls on the responsible Neos education councilor Wiederkehr, but also the Vienna SPÖ cultural councilor Kaup-Hasler, to work for a rapid and significant expansion of study places for music teachers. “Vienna, the world capital of music, is facing a cultural dilemma. It cannot be overlooked that there is a lack of qualified music teachers in Vienna’s middle schools. The current warnings about a generation of musical illiteracy must no longer be ignored.”
“Music is an essential part of our culture and identity. “It is a shame that in a city that is proud of its musical tradition, we are unable to provide our children with an appropriate musical education,” Berger continued.
Berger argues that the lack of qualified music teachers endangers musical education and thus Vienna’s cultural development. The city, known for its rich musical history and as a home to world-famous composers, has a responsibility to provide its students with a comprehensive musical education.
He demands that Wiederkehr act quickly to ensure that future generations of Viennese receive an education that does justice to their cultural heritage. “It is time for the red-pink city government to fulfill its obligations and invest in the education of our children. Musical education must not be neglected. We have to act before it is too late,” concluded Berger.
